Weeks Seven thru Nine: Mt. Sinai and Jewish studies

We've been plugging away at our studies in all subjects...it has been a very interesting journey to say the least! In week seven, we focused on understanding the three things God did during the time the Israelites camped at Mt. Sinai. First, He made a covenant with Israel as a people. Then, through Moses, he gave His Law, which taught the people how to live justly before Him. Finally, again through Moses, He gave the Israelites a means to have unbroken fellowship with Him; the Tabernacle worship and sacrifices.

We learned all about Jewish holidays and the Jewish Calendar, the Ark of the Covenant, and the Tabernacle. It was really neat to learn about Jewish Holidays during the Christmas season, as we were able to talk about them as they came on the calendar. Kaylee has been working on learning the calendar. We set up a "Family Calendar" that has stickers representing all of our weekly activities. Kaylee has really grown with being able to find the dates and know what is coming up. We've also been working diligently on our Language Arts studies with our friends. I am teaching a Spalding class for eight homeschooling students and it has been such a blessing for all of us!
